Karan Johar can finally heave a sigh of relief. He has finally signed a male lead for his film Shuddhi. Salman Khan has agreed to play the lead actor in the film. The movie is being delayed as Karan was unable to find the lead cast for the film.
The movie was earlier offered to Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and then Hrithik Roshan. Ranbir Kapoor who is already working on Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos and Tamaasha did not have any free dates to offer K Jo.Ranveer Singh also chose Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani over Shuddhi. Hrithik , however agreed to act in the film, but backed out at the last minute along with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Rumours surfaced that the former lovers weren't keen on working together again.
This is the first time Salman has signed a full- fledged Karan Johar film as the main lead. He had earlier done a special appearance in the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
